Ladies and gentlemen today we bring you someone that needs no introduction; adult superstar Chanel Preston!  Chanel Preston is a superstar of the highest order.  From Penthouse model to porn star, this Alaskan native (and you thought it was all polar bears and Sarah Palin huh?) has been fire with everything she’s touched.  She also makes sure she gives equal attention to the “business” side of show business as she is the current President of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) and recently began directing as well.  We caught up with Chanel recently to get her take on all things interracial.   Enjoy.

CB: Chanel Preston.  How are you lady?

Chanel Preston:  I’m fine thank you.

CB: What are your thoughts on the term and characterization of the term interracial as it relates to porn?

Chanel Preston:  I don’t feel like everyone uses the term interracial in the same way. I do feel that some, and hopefully most, use the term primarily for marketing purposes as that is a popular niche that has been created over time. However, that is not to say that there isn’t some level of racism in the industry as it relates to the term.

CB: So you would say it is more marketing than racism?

Chanel Preston:  I think it’s more marketing. However, I think there is another overt racism issue as it relates to pay for performers. I’ve spoken to a few performers who felt that the pay was not the same. A girl has told me that, “if I wasn’t black I feel that I would be getting paid more to do these scenes.” I had to agree with her.

CB: In fairness the latter part of your statement is not solely a porn issue.  That’s a mainstream Hollywood issue and overall job market issue as a whole (laughs hysterically). However, that gets me to thinking about another question. How do you feel about performers charging more for scenes with black male performers?

Chanel Preston:  I personally do not agree with that and just feel that it’s not right. I would not feel comfortable ever charging more to work with a black male performer. Some may say that it’s a “specialty niche” and I charge more for that niche. However, me personally that’s just something that I won’t do.

CB: You were in the porn industry a number of years prior to performing in your first interracial scene. Was that your choice? Were you not interested? Looking for the right opportunity?

Chanel Preston:  When I got in, and I feel like this happens to a lot of performers, I was given this “criteria” on how one should run their career. First there’s girl girl, then boy girl, then anal, then interracial and then any gang bangs or other types of fetishes. I followed this cliché that I was given. Now I had been in the business for about two years and honestly I really did wait that long to do interracial because I had done anal very early in my career. I was holding out for a Chanel Preston showcase movie (which never happened by the way… laughs) and I wanted to offer the movie something that I had not done before. For showcase movies the company always likes to put “her first something” on the box cover and I was afraid that if I didn’t have any firsts left that I wouldn’t get picked. It just so happened that “interracial” was the only first that I had left. That’s why I waited as long as I did because if not for that it would have been much sooner if not at the very beginning.

CB: Your first interracial scene; who was it for and who was it with?

Chanel Preston:  My first Chanel Preston interracial scene was for Adam and Eve in The Secretary 3 I think was the title with Prince Yahshua.

CB: Assuming you chose, why did you choose that project and Prince?

Chanel Preston:  I didn’t really know many black performers at the time (laughs). But I chose Prince Yahshua because he was one of the most popular performers and I knew him and had been around him. It was the obvious choice. As far as the company, the movie was a remake and in the original the girl had done her first interracial so Adam and Eve wanted someone for the remake who also would be doing their first interracial.

CB: And the overall experience was?

Chanel Preston:  Prince Yahshua is good-looking and I knew I would enjoy myself.  It was a feature so the sex was sort of choreographed but overall it was great and I really enjoyed it.

 CB: Had you had sex with a black man prior to entering the porn business?

Chanel Preston:  Yes.

CB: What was your best or most memorable interracial scene?

Chanel Preston:  I liked my scene with Mandingo in Mandingo Massacre 8 for Jules Jordan video.  I’m wearing a French maid outfit.  I see those photos circulate all the time and I’m just like “that was such a fun scene”. Also it was an anal scene and as you know he’s massive. I just thought it was a super sexy and fun scene.

CB: Who are your favorite black male performers that you’ve worked with?

Chanel Preston:  I love working with Prince Yahshua. I think he’s a great performer.  I think Nat Turnher is super fucking sexy. I haven’t worked with him in a very long time but when I have I’ve enjoyed working with him. Jon Jon; I think he’s awesome. Mandingo; his dick fits inside me so nicely (laughs) and I find him to be adorable so I definitely would add him to that list as well.

CB: What black male performers are on your bucket list?

Chanel Preston:  I am sort of ashamed to say that I worked with, correction that I “attempted” to work with, Shane Diesel the other day.  I have to admit that Shane Diesel would not fit inside of me. I was really devastated because I think Shane is a really amazing person and I was really excited to work with him. For whatever reason it just was not happening and I was really disappointed and I don’t know if I will be given another chance (laughs). I have heard good things about Rob Piper but I haven’t met him in person. I will add him as well.

CB: Are there any upcoming interracial projects that you can share with us?

Chanel Preston:  I shot a scene for Blacked.com with Jovan Jordan. I also recently directed my second movie; Smoke for James Deen Productions.  I shot a scene with Dana DeArmond and Isiah Maxwell that was so much fun. That interracial threesome is going to be really good. Cinematically it’s just very appealing. We’re all in private school wearing private school outfits. Isiah looked amazing in his private school jacket and his glasses I just wanted to jump his bones.

CB: Isiah Maxwell is a good dude.

Chanel Preston:  I heard so many amazing things about him and they are all true.

CB: If there was one myth that you could debunk about interracial porn what would it be?

Chanel Preston:  It’s not all entirely about the taboo aspect of having sex with a black man or black woman. I think some of it is shot genuinely to appeal to the visual aspect of it as far as how aesthetically pleasing it is. I actually have an ex-boyfriend who was Hawaiian that loved interracial porn. When I used to ask him why he said he loved how it looks and he thought it looked stunning. I hear a lot of people talk in a similar fashion.
